Hot weather already?

Whether or not I am ready for it, it seems as though the temperatures are going high on me already.  It was really warm today and I just keep thinking how I just want one more month of cold weather... hopefully another cold snap will come through.  The nice thing about warm weather is it makes me feel like it is my motherly duty to entertain my children outdoors... so I oblige.  Today it was just a short walk over to the neighborhood park.

Elise Louise has learned how to do the monkey bars.  She is so excited about this but it still makes me very nervous.  I broke my arm on a monkey bar sort of play equipment and that's the last thing I need her to do!  She loves doing it though and is so proud of herself.

The boy loves outdoors.... so much so that he actually gave me quite a scare this week. The kids and I were in the backyard pulling weeds and playing until Owen said he wanted to go inside to watch Tom and Jerry (his recent obsession.. that and Dumbo).  I went in and checked on him and about 2 minutes later I asked Ellie to look in the window just to make sure he was still sitting on the couch.  He wasn't.  I went in the house to look for him--he often will just go upstairs and play so I didn't think much of it.  Well, I looked all over the house, every cupboard, closet and bathroom, but no Owen to be found!  My heart is racing!!!  I looked outside and towards the park, but still no Owen.  I called my mom freaking out and then called 911.  While on the phone with them, I spot him laying on a neighbors lawn ten houses down.  Feeling furious and relieved all in one emotion I grab him and ask him what he was thinking.  He responds, "I just wanted to lay on the grass and look at the sky to see the clouds".  Seriously!!!??!!??  Ugh, that boy.  -- I was never concerned that he had been kidnapped for I know the kidnapper would promptly return him after a few minutes anyway.  But, I was concerned because it was around five and there were cars around and he is a boy who will dart into the street without looking.  So, my first lost kid experience.  Terrifying but a learning experience nonetheless.
This little cutie pie Mags did #1 and #2 in the potty today and has continued doing so all day.  Perhaps she will be potty trained before her older brother...  Likely.

Dare devil.  This is a scary girl at the playground..... or anywhere where she can do anything.
Owen usually takes good pictures (and I think this is a good one) but for some reason most of the pictures I took of him made him look...well... special.
So, one of many park days we've had recently.  It's good park weather right now.  Usually in the 60s at least so it makes for perfect playground days.
