I went to the doctors this morning and it turns out that my 24 protein test came back at levels higher than I have ever had before. So, the doctor has decided to induce me early. She was originally planning on inducing me this coming Wednesday, but I begged her not to (Wednesday is Ellie's birthday--- since she is going to have to share so much already, thought she should at least have her own day). Instead I will be induced on Tuesday, May 20th (which strangely enough was the day of induction with Ellie as well).
I will be 34 weeks 5 days along. Apparently with pre-eclampsia the baby's vital organs maturate at a faster rate, therefore a 35 week baby is just as well off as a full term baby. Of course there are no guarantees, especially with preemies, but I feel ok about things and am hopeful that she will be just fine. I did reach the pivotal 34 week mark which puts us in the clear for most of the major things that could go wrong.
They will be giving me the disgusting magnesium again, more as a precaution. I am not really looking forward to that again. I will, of course, be all about the epidural again. I mean, if I am being induced which is unatural, why would I then try and go natural? Not to mention the fact that labor hurts. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Maggie will be born before midnight so she and Ellie will each have their own day-- if not, we will just do the birthday thing up big on the 21st every May!
Mostly Daniel and I are just scared to have three kids. While I have been looking forward to not being pregnant for a long time now, I haven't thought too much about having a newborn again. Should be interesting. We will keep everyone posted.

I am so happy to hear that you will be having the baby early even though May 20th is pretty early. I am sure you are nervous to have 3 kids 3 and under but you are a great mom and will do well. Even with the baby being born the day before Ellie's birthday you'll probably end up celebrating it together just like we do with Grant and Ashlyn and their birthdays are 4 days apart. Good luck with everything and let us knwo how things go!! Take care.
Hey! And good luck with three... I'm terrified, myself! You'll have to give me advice, you'll be a pro by the time mine comes.
Best of luck, Erin! I'm glad you've been able to make it as far as you have and we'll pray that everything works out just fine for all of you.
By the way, I hear you on the terror bit!
All the best!
Good luck! Gosh, you are such an amazing woman. You are so brave!
Erin, we wanted to let you know we are thinking about you and praying everything will go well for you and baby Maggie. I know you have been put through the ringer with this pregnancy. You will be a great Mom of 3 :)
