Tagged! Facts about the Kids

We were recently "tagged" to write some facts about Ellie- but I think I will take a minute and write some things about both of the kids since I will soon have three kids and really want to remember this time in their lives. This might be kinda long... sorry.

1. Elise Louise Weber was born on May 21, 2005 and weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. She goes by all sorts of names... Ellie, Elise, Ells, Ellie Lou, Ellsabelle, Bittle, Sweets, Sweet Pea, etc. However, she has recently become pretty particular and wants people at preschool and church to call her Elise. Ellie was born at 37 weeks so came a little quicker than we anticipated and her mom and dad were on their own for about 5 days.. looking back, we really had no clue what we are doing and it was surprising the hospital let us take her with such little experience.

2. Ellie is not much of a sleeper or an eater. She has been like this from the start. She has stopped napping but on occasion she will stay lay down with mom but then is up until past 10. On top of not eating much in quantity, she is also really particular on what she eats. Ellie's favorite foods are chips, chocolate, ice cream (all the good stuff), cantaloupe, grapes, cheese, smoothies and pasta.

3. Elise has always been my big helper. She likes to follow me around and is always interested in what I am doing and wants to help whether I want her to or not. She likes to bake, cook, clean and do crafts with mom.

4. Ellie is a girlie girl! She loves makeup, painting her nails, pretty bows and dresses, lotion, perfume and everything else girlie. She is really into all the Disney princesses. I don't really like dressing the kids in Disney attire daily, but I do buy them Disney pajamas and Ellie loves picking out princess pjs every night.

5. Elise loves to sing. Her favorites are "I am a Child of God", "ABC's", "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", "Popcorn Popping" and "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam".

6. Ellie really enjoys learning. She is a curious child who asks a lot of questions and always wants to do things herself. She likes participating in activities where she is learning something new and then likes to talk about what she has learned. She has always been a little sponge who picks up information all the time. Her memory is amazing.

7. Ells is such a sweetheart. She has an amazing ability to be able to tell when someone is sad and always wants to comfort them. Many a times I have been upset and she will always give
me hugs and kisses and ask me if I am ok. She acts this way with everyone from little kids to adults. She has a very soft heart and always wants people around her to be happy.

Now, my boy:

1. Owen Brent Weber was born on November 20, 2006. His middle name is after his daddy whose birthday is just the day before. From early on I just knew Owen was a big baby and I begged and begged to have him early. At 36 weeks we had an ultrasound saying that he was 8 1/2 lbs but they still wouldn't deliver. At 39 weeks my doctor finally had mercy on me and induced me. Owen came out weighing 10 lbs 3 oz. He was enormous.

2. Owen is all boy. Maybe it has something to do with how big he was, I don't know, but he is such a boy. He loves to climb, get dirty, play rough and run around. He crawled at just over 5 months and started walking at 9 months and has been on the go ever since.

3. Owen also goes by a lot of names at home. He is Owen, Oboe, Obitron, Obomobo, Obes, Obie... but everyone outside the family calls him Owen. We had a hard time coming up with a name for our son in utero but finally settled on Owen and I am glad we did because I couldn't imagine him by any other name. It fits him perfectly.

4. He's a momma's boy. And thankfully!! My mom always told me that sons were different. You love them just like you do your daughters but there really is a connection between mothers and sons. Now I get it. He is usually on the go, but when he takes a break it is usually in my arms. I always complain about Ellie's obsession with my elbow pit, but Owen has become just about as bad... he is constantly needing to stroke my skin. I don't know why I got such "feely" kids.

5. He's a man's man... Owen always seems to find a connection with the men in his life. Whether it is his dad, grandpa or uncle... he always wants to do things with them. He likes the "rough" play and loves being thrown around. This summer it has become especially obvious as the 'men' come home and Owen runs up to them-- though he has always gone up to men and wanted them to play with him. I guess us women are good for loves but he likes to play with the guys.

6. Owen is tough! Owen has always been an easy going kid. Whenever he gets hurt and cries we never really know how hurt he is. For example, when we were on our San Antonio trip he hurt himself in the bath tub and cried for a bit, but only for a couple minutes. Later we discovered he had bit through almost half his tongue! Poor guy. He usually has a dozen bruises all over because he plays so hard. You will hardly hear him complain about getting hurt though.

7. Owen has a bit of a shoe fetish. He loves putting on everyone's shoes. Girl shoes, boy shoes... anyone's shoes. He especially likes to put on Ellie's church shoes but because he and Ellie wear the same size shoes, he looks really funny and his dad always takes them off. What can I say? The boy loves shoes!

Well there you go, some facts about my kiddos. Let's see, I will tag some of you, but please don't feel obligated!
