GROSS-- my kids play out there!

Look what was in our backyard this weekend. A possum! SOOOO gross... I am feeling like I am going to throw up seeing the picture right now... these things are just giant rats.
It stayed in one spot forever. Ellie was the one who discovered it and said to Daniel, "Dad, there's a hamster in our backyard". Yikes. We watched it, the whole time I was freaking out that it was going to make its home in our yard, but luckily it went over to the neighbors side. No signs of it since. Thank goodness.
I have been scanning the yard each time the kids go out just to make sure it hasn't returned. We've had wild rabbits in our yard too... you'd think we live in a wooded area or something, but no. Seriously though, I am so grossed out!

Round Rock Donuts

This morning for a treat we went to Round Rock Donuts for breakfast.  It's a pretty popular place, judging by the long lines both in the store and at the drive-thru.
Gotta love the orange glaze.  Yum!

It's 82 degrees and February....

...what do you think we're doing? We are outside playing!!!

Pasghetti

Every day I ask Elise what she wants for dinner. And every day she tells me the same thing, "Um, how 'bout Pasghetti?" This is, of course, how she says he wants Spaghetti. All the kids love it and it is one of the only meals that they all always eat, so it is a once-a-week meal. Fine with me, it's easy. Here are the kids eating up their Pasghetti:
For a skinny baby, this little one sure can chow down!

Valentine Day Happenings

Happy Valentine's Day from ours to yours.
The kids are excited for Valentine's Day today.  Each of them dressed festively.
We started off the morning with a pancake breakfast.  Elise's pancake was a heart and Owen got Mickey because I knew he'd appreciate it more than a silly heart, he also ate more of it since it was Mickey.
Owen opening up a Valentine card from the grandparents (we also received some fun e-cards from the grandparents abroad).
That Grammy really taped those suckers and Elise was getting frustrated.  Dad came to the rescue with scissors right before a full meltdown.
Maggie checking out her new stickers.... right after she shoved it in her mouth.
Ellie opening her goody bag from mom and dad.
Owen got all sorts of stickers, fun paper, a kaleidoscope, crayons and markers but the thing he was most excited (by far) about were his new safety scissors.
Putting up the new window stick-ons.

Owen also had fun with them.
Maggie wishing she could reach them as well.
We've had a really great Valentine's Day so far.  Today we'll be watching friends' kids so they can have a date and also we are going out for lunch as well while they watch our children!  (Mags gets to go on our date with us since she is all about Mama these days... it's annoying)  Yippee!

Class Valentine Parties

Today was the kids' Valentine Parties at school today. I decided to do a step up from your average valentine and Elise helped me to make the children's valentines this year. Sure, it was probably a little overboard.. but that is kind of how I am... I always go overboard... Anyway, the kids had a great time at their respective parties, feasting on pizza and fruit. Now they are at the kitchen table diving into all the candy. They'd better enjoy it for the next 15 minutes because it is quickly heading to the trash can.

These are Elise's Valentines. I had planned on doing the same things for both of them, but I couldn't find anymore match boxes to replicate Owen's, so we went a different direction. I think they look pretty cute and Miss Elise wrote the names of all her friends all by herself!
Here are Owen's valentines. Perhaps a little on the girlie side, but he is only 2... he'll recover.
Owen digging into his stash.
Elise showing off what treats she received. And Maggie just looking cute for the camera. Her and I enjoyed a pleasant morning of shopping the sales racks and an afternoon of cleaning.
I am very excited for Valentine's Day as I have more planned for the kiddos... I'll keep you posted!

A Friend's Birthday

First things first, I actually updated my blog, so if you are interested, take a gander over there. You will see what I decided to do this morning instead of doing the laundry.

Yesterday, the kids' friend, Spencer, had his 3rd birthday at a bouncy place. As you can imagine, my kids were all about that. Before we went we stopped off and got the birthday boy some balloons.
Here is Owen before the cake came. He was wearing his Thomas visor.
Ellie cheesing it up for the camera.

Elise playing... didn't want to stop to smile for the camera... too much fun playing.
Owen sliding, he was also on the move and wouldn't stop for his mother, the photog. And of course Magdalyn was there... leave that sweet smile behind? No way.

Loving heart hair

Sorta turned out...It's a heart if you can't tell.
