Saturday Stuff

We use our Saturdays to get "stuff" done, and today was no different. The project today was to get the cars cleaned. The van wasn't bad, it just needed a good vacuuming from all the snacks the kids drop on the floor. Daniel's Carolla, however, needed some serious work. We haven't cleaned it out since we switched over to the van and I had been meaning to get it done and surprise him with a nice clean car for months now, but it never happened.
Today, I cleaned out all the big trash and stuff we were keeping out of that car and realized what horrible condition the car is in. It needed to be waxed in a bad way and the upholstery was in dire need of some attention--- it is amazing the kind of wear that comes from two small kids. So, I took it in and had it completely detailed. Now it looks beautiful again!! I think it will be nice for Dan to drive a nice car again--- I keep telling him that I cleaned it so he could have a renewed love affair with his car (he loves the Carolla and wants to be buried with it practically).
This afternoon Ellie and I went to Sam's club to do some much needed shopping. Owen loves it when we go to Sam's because he gets to climb on all the boxes when we get home. Here are some pictures of him going crazy.

Ellie likes to get in on the fun as well. Now I have to brag about a purchase I made at Sam's... First let me tell you that Daniel and I have been talking about getting Ellie a new booster seat to keep in his car so we can each take a child somewhere if needs be and not have to switch around car seats. Plus, we wanted a booster seat to bring to Houston and keep in my parents car since Ellie tends to like to run errands with everyone quite a bit. Well, our Sam's Club sold Eddie Bauer booster seats for forever, but I guess recently decided not to sell them anymore. So, I got the last 5-point-harness booster for $15!!! This is an amazing deal since they are usually like $75. Sorry, I am not usually one to brag about things like this but this was a particularly good deal... yippee! Plus it will be so nice for Daniel to have a car seat in his car too!

This just goes to show you that sometimes dad gets all the attention. But as you can see Owen noticed that I re-entered the room and is on his way down to get me. Why does mom have to be the favorite to hold? Oh but I gaurantee you when these kiddos want to play, I am not the one they go to. I guess Daniel is the fun parent and I am just the soft, comfortable one. (by the way, Ellie picks out the Pjs so they often don't match... I give her few options for daytime clothes so I guess she can pick out the PJs!).
